I work for a community bank in Texas and had been getting calls from customers regarding calls from this company, however no company name was collected by our customers only a description similar to my own which is described below:

They Distinct Advantage) said I had won free gas card and airline tickets for maintaining my checking account. They already had my routing number and account number and asked me to verify it, which I did not do. They also knew my address and what city the Bank was in. Then they wanted me to give them the account number on my checking account, this of course I did not do and asked if they already knew my account number why the needed me to verify it and was given the run-around. I knew full well they did not have it. I asked to speak to a member of management which was called Sean Fish. I eluded him with my distaste of him and his company.

I am an IT security officer and am very well educated to the antics of these seemingly informed con artists, this is what I would call social Engineering. I am appalled with this whole mess and have taken the following actions not just because it happened to me but is part of my job and the protection of my customers personal information is my utmost concern. I notified the local police, the radio station, newspaper, posed this on this site as well as notifying the State Attorney General, the OAG Consumer protection Division, and the Consumer Protection Hotline.
