In-Phonic
Fraudulent Rebate Offer RIPOFF

Miscellaneous

My first complaint is that a customer does not know of the demands of In-phonic for receiving a rebate until the order is placed and the phone has arrived. Normally, one will start their phone service and later sit down to read all the small print.

I submitted what I thought was required but In-phonic advised that I had submitted it too soon. Their letter stated among other things and I quote: "Claims should be postmarked no earlier than 180 days after activation date." Same letter, "Your claim must be resubmitted within 180 days of your activation date..." I wrote asking for clarification is it "no earlier" or "within" 180 days.

They want the claim after 6 months of service. It turns out that I needed to resubmit my claim during the period of time we were anticipating a hurricane and these things slipped my mind.

As soon as I realized it, I resubmitted my claim, admittedly, it was late. However, I think ripping off a senior citizen is rather despicable not to mention one that has a period of time that they await their fate relative to a threatening hurricane.

Without considering anything else, I think that not advising the public as to the terms of the rebate prior to their receiving their telephone is fraudulent and they should not be allowed to sell their phones in this manner.

My advice to anyone getting a cell phone service offering phones with rebates is that they make certain of the terms prior to ordering the service and the phone, and if it is with In-phonics, Inc., don't even touch it.
