I have read several of the "consumer complaintss" regarding the distribution centers for World Perfume, Inc. And Scentura, and I want to add my two cents to the bundle.

I, too, was suckered into the manipulation of Pyramid Marketing Schemes. I live in Houston, TX, and the distribution center that I was roped into was called "Southwest Marketing, " and it was run by Joe Manor (who has been mentioned in connection with Salt Lake City, Utah) Marvin Seay, and Heather Cline. All three of these people lied to me continuously, and I am certain that they are pulling the same stunt with 25-50 people weekly. As of the last couple of months, I have been campaigning against them, hoping to shut them down.

I am looking forward to contacting Johnny Whitworth soon regarding his distribution centers. I realize that legally he has no responsibility over these centers, but I would like to hear what he has to say about my experience. I lost three weeks - thankfully, only three - of my life to these people, and it set me back in my job hunt quite a bit.

I don't understand how these people can get away with false classified ads in the newspapers, lying to their employees, sending solicitors onto the streets without a license, and losing at least 85% of their recruits each week. I understand that we live in a free market society, but this is ridiculous.

I am hoping to contact more victims in the Houston area so that I am able to put together a petition to get their ads removed from the Houston Chronicle. If you have been a victim of Southwest Marketing (or MidSouth Promotions), please post a reply to this as soon as possible.
