Paddock Club Apartments
AKA Mid America Apartment Communities, Very unsafe and not child friendly. Staff untruthful and not helpful. Ripoff

My husband and I moved to Huntsville, AL. We has previously lived in Huntsville at the Paddock club around 10 years ago and has a very pleasant experience so we decided to live there for 6 months while we looked for a home.in talking with the Paddock club staff I asked a lot of questions regarding the safety of the appartments now and if they were a child friendly community, etc. All answers were yes, yes, yes.

It didn't take long to find out different. I have 3 small children and after living there less than a month I found out the apartments were very unsafe. Between cars getting broken in to, staff being unfriendly and not helpful it started to become a nightmare. We were in an upstairs apartment and any little bump the downstairs neighbors were constantly banging on the walls. I couldn't even stay at my apartment during the day for the neighbors complaining about my children.

On one occassion the mainentance staff came to repair a closet door and went back and told staff that my kids were loud and I got written up. My son dropped something on the floor. That is why we were written up. Why did they tell me it was child friendly when It obviously was not.

Needless to say I was practically in tears everyday. This situation forced us to speed up our search in finding a home. When we did find a home, we were leaving 2 months early.instead of working with us on the termination of the contract, they forced us to pay all costs for terminating the contract. I later heard that if I had just tried to get thrown out then I would not be in the situation I am today. I do not mind paying a portion of what is owed, but do not feel, because of the circumstances, that I should pay the entire amount being that they were dishonest at first and supported our neighbor which was in fact harrassing my family to the point of me being scared to let my children outside to play. They are not even willing to work with me on this.
