Unauthorized funds taken from my checking from Versatalk

I was contacted by freedomgold and they said they were going to send me information about the company and the trial through the mail. I called them back after 6 days and told them I never received the information and I wanted to cancel.

The person on the other line said they would send another one out and extended my trial to 60 days. They mentioned the long distance package and I declined it since i had my work phone listed and we have unlimited long distance already.

About 7 days ago I noticed $49.95 was missing from my checking acount and this caused a rent check to bounce. When I called the bank they couldn't read the company name on the check and I did some research online and found this website and the stories everyone else has posted.

I called them back today and was told that they will be mailing me a check today and in 7-10 bussiness days I should have my refund and I will not be billed in the future again. This remains to be seen and I will update this if I do get a refund.

I was also told that they do not put the money back in electronically becuase it takes too long for customers to get their refund when the guy 2 days ago told me it would be put back into my account. What do I believe at this point?
