Dishonest Fraudulent Billing ripoff Largo Florida

On Jan. 14 I was contacted on my cell phone by Freedom Gold. A woman told me about a $5,000 credit line. I was told that I would be sent an information packet that would contain a $199.00 check that would replace $199.00 they would take out as the one time fee. The woman told me about the information I would get in the packet and a few gifts that would also come with it. Then towards the end of the call the woman asked me if the routing and account number they had for my bank was correct.

I was a bit stunned that they had this information, but I figured it was ligitimit because she had also said it was part of visa, and they would have access to this number. I told the woman I would look over the information and let them know if I wanted to use their credit line. To be honest, I just wanted to see what they offered, I had no intention of using it. It has been over two weeks and I haven't received an information package, yet.

On Jan. 28 I had to move around some fund in my bank account and I noticed that $199.00 had been removed. I looked at the check that had been scanned to my online checking account, and it said Freedom Gold. I had never heard of this company before. I did a search online and found the website, Freedomgold.com, I couldn't believe it. Here was what the woman had told me about.

I called their customer service and told them I had never received an information packet, and had never approved of the $199.00 to be removed from my account. I told them I want my money back and to have my account cancelled. I was told that I would have to write a letter to an address in Largo, FL. Also, in order to cancel the account, I was given a cancellation code, but I needed to call back and use a different option to enter the code.

I called the customer service number back to cancel the account, but I was never given an option to enter the cancellation code, all the recording said was that my account had been canceled, Goodbye.

I've gone to the bank and done a Stop Payment. Now all I can do is hope.
