Watch out - Rip-off

I was called sometime in the middle of January and this lady told they were running a limited time offer on a credit card and that I had been pre-approved for a $2,000.00 mastercard, and fee long distance. All I had to do was pay a one time processing fee of $249.00 and I would receive the card in about a month.

I accepted their offer and on January 31, the $249.00 was taken out of my account. When I did not receive the card I tried to call the "customer service" phone number they gave me, but it does not work. Thinking I had been taken, I called my bank and asked them to pull a copy of the check and give me all the information on the check. They gave me two phone numbers, one I already had (and it didn't work) the other was to hear the verbal authorization for them to take the money out of my account. Also on the check they had a password and program number, which you need to hear your verbal authorization. I called and listen to it and it was me.

After I got nowhere I jumped on the internet and found consumer complaints. I called my bank back and told them what I had found. They said I could file a report with their fraud department and I can include any information that would prove this was fraud. The bank told me if it was fraud they would refund my money.

I also called the BBB in New York and the Attorney General's office in Buffalo. I filed reports with both agencies. (The reports can be filed on line). The Attorney General's office told me that they will only investigate a company if there are enough complaints filed. They also told me if there is any information I have collected in my investigation I should include it in my report. My bank is going to help me with everything they can provide, such as account numbers this money was deposited to and whatever else they can do.

I am not finished with these Turkey's yet.
