Scam Attempt Customer Filed Complaint in New York

Some time last year, a customer who tried to scam our company out of over $15,000 (fifteen thousand dollars) managed to file a complaint against our company in New York. We never received an email from the BBB, and whatever they sent went straight to our spam folder, as we refuse to be a BBB member because they charge companies to get good rates. We tried to contact their New York office to at least have a way to fight back, but we were given no chance. It is driving our business insane and has already started to drop our name down, as well as our sales.
