Stale Oreo Case Bought at Sam's Though Not Expired

I am an instructor in the oil and gas business. I recently purchased some snacks for my group for my training sessions. One of the cases of snacks I bought was a case of Oreos. I was very disappointed they were stale. Even though the date had not expired, they tasted old and stale.
