Scheduled Shutdown

On October 15, I had no power so I called the electric company and left my phone number. I received a call that they would be sending someone out to my home.in the meantime, I discovered my neighbors also did not have power. About 45 minutes later I received another call stating that this was a planned shutdown so they would not be coming out to my home. The power outage began at about 8:30 am and did not return until 5:00pm.
If this was a scheduled outage, HEI should have informed us that this was going to happen. We could have worked around this outage. As it was, I was in the middle of my work when this outage occurred. It was very inconvenient and stressful. If Hawaiian Electric needs to have another scheduled outage in the future, I hope you will use commonsense and let the customer know ahead of time so we won't be caught by surprise again.
