3rd attempt to cancel accounts

This was my third attempt to cancel my accounts. There was a 30-trial that stayed active when I was changing our account to a different plan. That created a second account.

So, I was being charged for 2 accounts since the beginning, which was October. It's my fault that I didn't notice it until December when I tried to close both of them.

1st attempt - I sent an email closing the one I knew about. It was returned saying that I had to call customer service. Their hours were not helpful for those of us who work all day and are on the East Coast. 6am - 6pm Pacific. I always seemed to have time only after work during the dinner hour.

2nd attempt - I called customer service during my working hours to cancel. I was informed of the second account. I was told the agent could refund me for thirty something dollars. I thought I had closed the accounts because my bill showed the credits. But I found them on my bill again six months later. This is a card my husband uses for business and I haven't been checking it closely. That will change.

3rd attempt - Today I talked with Jane to close the accounts. She tried to get me to sign up for 30 days for free and they would give me a credit. For the same $31... But to close them I'd have to wait thirty days and call back. I said no. Then we found out that neither account showed that I had called in January. They couldn't refund me. Even though I haven't had activity on the account for OVER a year!

She tried to get me to sign-up for the 9.99 plan. Even though I had just gotten upset when we found I had been billed for 2 accounts. I told her the only thing she could do for me was give me the credit for all the months the account was left open. Approximately $240. Of course she was only authorized for the $31... Did I want to talk to a supervisor. This time i saved those stupid reference numbers in my phone. She put me on hold and about a minute later the sound of a fax machine started on the line and then they hung up.

I'm not calling back, but you can bet you bippy that I'm calling next month if that charge is there.

THE MORAL AND THE BOTTOM LINE
DON'T JOIN STAMPS.com unless you're sure you want to pay the monthly charge for the rest of eternity!!!

Their customer service is awful - all they try to do is sell you more and never correct the problem. It's cost me $240 and i don't intend to pay a penny more!!!
