Received a call from this number today. I was informed that this was a government agency that routinely but randomly picked 15000 citizens to provide a $9000 grant - which is non-taxable and free to use for any thing that I wish to use it for except for gambling and drinking.:)
The caller sounded like he was most certainly not from the USA or he did have a thick accent with an American sounding name - which only made things more suspicious.
Upon questioning him why anyone would give away money for free and what exactly were the eligibility criteria for such a prize - the person disconnected the call.
Wanted to let people know that if you get such a call from anyone or any other number - please do not give out any personal information and report it on different sites so others are aware.
