I am very upset, over comment dr made, about my responsibilitys

Miscellaneous

I am a 61 yr old viet nam era vet, on disability [ssd] i was told that the veterans clinic in daytona florida, that they could not help me with my dental issues, because they were not service connected. Ive had three [3] mini strokes, parkinsons, heart issues and severe migraine headaches, i have been suffering for a few years with infected, bad teeth. Finally i could no longer stand the immence pain. About 6-7 months ago i signed up on a plan from united health care, that provides dental ins, from my secondary plan to supplement my ssd. I called united health to find a provider in my area, and was sent to this place. That was 1 week ago from today, where 3 teeth were extracted. I was told that there were 3-4 more that needed to be extracted, i had an appointment today for a cleaning, and to have impressions made for partial plates. I paid my part of the co pay for the first visit, in cash. After the cleaning was done, the dr walked in, stood behind me and made a comment to me about quote, are you aware of your responsibilitys to this firm? I took offence to this statement!!! I wouldnt be there if i wasn't. I was told to pay $640.00 for this visit, which i did in cash, and check. Every penny i had! The more i thought about this, the more angry i got. Which set me to thinking about his responsibilitys, and thru personal experiences with doctors in the past. Triple charging ins companys for services. [case in point], i went to a dr up north, for a health issue, i had insurence thru my corp, for full health care, dental, maternity, for myself and my employee's.[7] i shut the corp down, hence no ins coverage. Upon payment time, i was presented a bill for over $500.00, i informed the provider that i no longer had ins coverage, and would be paying my bill out of pocket. The girl at the desk said she had wished i informed her of this before she did her billing work, she wrote me a new bill, and the total was $75.00 ok, so now i see how he game works!!! I did not go to this dentist here, for cosmetic work, i came because i have serious health issues because of these bad teeth! I know its not the dr's fault about my problems, and i did not go there to fatten up their bank accounts either! I wasnt offered any type of payment plan, or any other options, he was basically telling me to pay, now! Which i did. 2nd issue the girl that took the impressions, had a problem with removing the top impression because she had to pull the impression off of my front theeth with her fingers, i'm sure that the impression she took will be destorted, but i got the feeling they wanted to get their money, and get me out of the door! After much thought about the whole experience, and the dr's statment about my responsibiltys, i called them back and canceled the whole thing, and wanted my money back all except for the cleaning, which im sure they billed the ins co for also! This company's main care is not the welfare of the patient, but rather their bottom line. I cannot trust nor do business with this type of attitude!!! And in my opinion very unprofessional..
