My elderly aunt was having a problem with Kaspersky Pure 3.0 not updating. She looked for support within the software and it gave her a number (she thinks) that the person represented themselves as Kaspersky. When they told her they would need to connect, she let them. "Yana", the tech, told her her machine had been hacked and that the hackers could see all of her financial information, but for just $200, they would fix it all for her and provide a lifetime guarantee. This sounded fishy to her so she called me, her nephew with 20 years in PC and network support. I called the number she had and found out it was iTechline. As soon as I had her try to use Teamviewer to connect to me, the PC spontaneously went to restart itself. We found out she had not disconnected from the LogMeIn Rescue session so before I could see what the "Kaspersky" "tech" had said, it was gone. Once we were able to get the system back, I was able to resolve her updating problem in 30 seconds. Literally. These guys are full of crap and Kaspersky should pursue them if they are scamming their way into the support chain. If Kaspersky actually hired these guys to outsource some stuff, they have been duped and are putting their business in jeopardy. Stay away from itechline!!!
