Miscellaneous

After reading mixed reviews for OpticsFast I decided to roll the dice and order some Oakley glasses that were "in-stock" and are readily available at most online and local retailers. Having read the mixed reviews I wrote a disclaimer on my order reserving the right to a full refund if the glasses had not been shipped within 2 weeks from the order date. They accepted the order without hesitation and at no point did they comment on the right I reserved to a full refund. It is a month later and I have have not received the frames. I requested that they cancel my order and provide the full refund as they were not able to meet the delivery time that they themselves had advertised, after all the premise for my order was a quick delivery. Why would anyone advertise an item as being in-stock and then not be able to deliver after 4 weeks? I talked to their customer service after being on hold for 45 minutes and they could not confirm when the glasses would arrive as they order them from a "supplier" that does not cancel orders or provide delivery times. I then asked them why the web-site advertises the frames as "in-stock" when they have to order it from a supplier who can not give them a delivery date. They did not have an answer for that. Nor did they have an adequate response when I asked when they would change the web-site delivery from in-stock to back order. Rather than provide me with an updated shipping date or the full refund, they decided to process a refund with a 20% cancellation fee. I wrote them demanding a full refund based on the context of the order and that deducting 20% for their pockets was not acceptable. They then wrote me saying that they had begun cutting the lenses and received the frames asking if I still wanted to cancel the order. I told them I wanted the glasses and asked them to confirm that the frames were in house and when they would be shipped. They confirmed that they had received the frames, but, that they were cracked and the replacement frame was now on back order and they asked me what they should do. I wrote them asking them to ship the lenses and credit the full amount for the frames. I have since not heard back from them. I suspect they are either ignoring the request, filtering through all the complaints they get, or just plain out of excuses. I have never had an experience like this with an online retailer. I recently ordered a set of prescription safety glasses from a different online retailer and received the order in 4 days! When you are not able to provide the product you advertise, in the time frame that you advertise and give customers nothing but excuses when they want their money back it is called fraud. There is no reason you should not be able to refund 100% of the purchase price to the customer, no questions asked, when you are not able to deliver a product under the terms of a sale. I am doing what I can to ensure that all the major credit card companies do what they can to protect their customers and not process payments to OpticsFast. Please do the same and demand from your card company that OpticsFast not be able to process and steal anyone else's money!
