I kept seeing Slimband pop ups and commercials every where that said NO DIETING, it sounded too good to be true but looked into it on the computer just to see and immediately I was bombarded by phone calls non stop!!! I wondered about this as they all sounded way to happy!!! But they found a promotors that lived close to me and felt at ease when she said her and her younger daughter had the amazing surgery... I felt very pressured by its my own fault and I take responsibility... But I do not believe the lies and out come of a $18000 surgery... They were so very nice pre op and very helpful I asked them about my medical history and they said no problem they would request and get a copy and see if I qualify... Well they happily phoned me and said things were perfesct so I felt reassured and decided to go thru with the surgery I drove 2 hrs to the airport and then had a four hour flight. The next morn I canned to the clinic (which I was told was a top notch clinic) but was shocked when the cab pulled up to a renovated old home!!! I walked in and no body was around so I waited one half of an hour and finally a lady came and took me to an old place that looked like an old locker room and was told to change and the dr dr would be in to do a consultation with me... He did come in said hello looked at my file (maybe a total of 2-3 mins and left... The nurses came in and took me to the operating room that looked like it was brought over on the ark... And then I started getting worried especially when a multi million company covers you with a blanket full of holes and all patched up!!! I said I no longer wanted the surgery but was very firmly told I still would be charged... So unfortunately I had the surgery and as time went on got sicker and sicker... When I tried contacting Slimband for help they turned their backs on me and never returned my never ending phone calls or emails until I became so sick and ended up in the hospital and then lost my job because of this... They then contacted me when I said I would pay when I could scrape up the funds... They wasted no time in preparing to take me to court... I then was rushed to a big city hospital as I went into a coma and had 5 specialists working on me... I lived but went threw intensive rehab physical therapy etc... But have been told I will never live a normal life again... The drs were appalled as Slimband lied they never requested my file and by no means should they ever had operated on me!!! People are finally coming forward. And taking them to court for similar medical issues occurring after the op. As well Toronto National post wrote a lengthy write up on the owner Micnael Scot-Smith how had previously served a 2 year prison term for fraud??? Where is the justice as most of us have lost everything and can't even fathom the idea of affording a lawyer!!! Do you have any suggestions or point me to someone that can help me??? Thx so much...
