Today i am suppose to go to settlement, but i found out last night i need another $26,000 how has pnc mortgage (inappropriate content removed) me??? Let me count the ways! It all started when my wife and i found this beautiful house that we loved and wanted to get a mortgage. We had over 20% to put down so we thought no problem. We made over 90k last year and 75 the year before and have better than average credit. So we called pnc since they had been so good to us over the years. We got in touch with this (inappropriate content removed) george who took my info and said sure we can do it. You might need to pay off your atv and big credit card but we can make it work.

Awesome, i paid 10k on the credit card (been waiting to do that for six months anyway) paid the atv. We are all good to go, right george? Yes i think you will be ok. So let the games begin. I am self employed so i use my personal account to transact business. Hell i’m just a handyman. How many contractors do the same thing? I faxed two years taxes statements that im self employed, my wife too. Also per george’s request a dozen copies of invoices with my customers’ personal information on there for pnc’s verification purposes. A copy of my wife’s master’s degree along with her transcripts???
Now we are close to the mortgage commitment date and george decides we need to pay off a large line of credit that we already have with pnc for our existing house. So miraculously we pull that money somewhere from our ass and pay that off. The mortgage commitment gets done only one day late.
Now we are in the final two weeks!!! I ask again. Is everything ok now? I think you will be ok says george. A week later george wants to run something by me. The undwerwriter. Who should have seen this weeks ago in my opinion, now wants out debt to income ratio down a little. Even after i asked if the underwriter had seen it he said i will send it up tomorrow. (i have heard this before)
now a week or so before settlement all of a sudden he wants to run something by me. The underwriter wants to lower my debt ratio a little so i need to pay off about 7k in student loans. The good news is we can do this at settlement! Less than one week before settlement they’re still not happy. We need you to pay off another 8k in student loans to bring the dti down some more. Ok fine, i have some money might as well pay all this off instead of investing in my business.
Less than 24 hours before settlement i get an email need another 26k
