Took out short term disability ins policy on 02/14.1st premium was taken out of my paycheck on 02/21. Had one year waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Had surgery on 2/19. Was denied because they say my coverage did not start until 03/01. The paper i and my employer have say 2/14 no other dates listed. Was not well informed by agent who sold me the ins about the coverage start date nor the amount of coverage i was truly eligible for. Have sent them letter of appeals today- 04/12.
