The contractor was supposed to start on 4-1-13 but I had to push it out a week. I asked him to start on 4-8-13. I cancelled with him for a number of reasons. He didn't show up on 4-8 or 4-9 and didn't call to explain. I had to call him and he said he was delayed and should have called to let me know. Yes he should have. My son said he could do the job so I cancelled. Along with that I was uncomfortable with him because I felt he was being a little forward by asking me out the first day he came to write up the contract. He also said he would discount the job for cash so I paid him a $1,000 cash deposit. I read his contract and it didn't say anywhere that I could not get my deposit back. The whole thing just put a bad taste in my mouth. I can't afford to lose a $1,000.
