Scammed me out of my deposit e

Came to my house for siding bid. Went ahead and through in some free gutters to match the new siding. His price was about a 1,000 dollars lower than my lowest bid. Said if I signed the contract today he could start in two days when the deposit check of 1750.00 cleared. Haven't talked to him since. He will only email me with reasons for the work not being done. He says for me to read my contract and I will see that my deposit is non refundable. He is a scammer and needs to be locked up. I can be emailed at if anyone wants to contact me about this John French. I want as many victims to come forward as possible, so we can put this dirt bag in jail where he belongs.
