Ripoff dishonest total liar unreachable who are they?

I received a phone call from a supposed employee of Multimedia sources by the name of Ruth Thomas (ID#: 1924). She told me that I had been chosen randomly to receive a "free computer". There were only 20 people in the whole US and 10 being from Georgia. I was one from Georgia.

She said that I only had to pay the shipping and processing fees of $284.90. I would receive the computer in about 6-8 weeks and there would be offers included for other deals (camera, phone service, vacation). All other offers were optional. Computer was free to spread good word about company.

My husband said to hang up, it sounded like an internet pop-up add. I told her this and she assured me that she understood. It sounded too good to be true. Nothing is free. We (Multimedia sources) are hoping you will be satisfied and spread the word about us. She said they were "registered" with the Better Buisiness Burea too.

Unfortunately I had talked my husband into trusting her. I demanded that I have her name. I also requested the address and phone number of the company. She convincingly gave me all of the above.

The money was taken the next day of course. I waited the six weeks. No computer, no phone call, nothing.

I called the toll free number I was given. Some man answered. I explained what had happened. He said that the order was on the way.

My husband {very sceptical) said to call back and find out what exactly they were sending for it to take so long.

I did. I now was talking to a woman. She said that I was sent a black binder with coupons for a computer, camera, vacation, etc. I was furious.

I politely told her that I had supposedly won a computer and was paying the shipping and processing fees of $284.90. I asked how it could cost so much just to ship a binder.

She said that the $284.90 was a membership fee. I had the choice of getting these products after I received the binder.

I flipped out. I told her that I was boldly lied to and was never even told anything about any membership. I demanded a full refund immediately. She said that it was too late to refund the money, the order had already been shipped. I would have to wait 4 MORE weeks and then return the binder for my refund.

I waited 4 more weeks thinking I had done all I could and that it was being delt with.

I still have received NOTHING! I tried to call again and again and the number is conveniently out of service. Oh yeah - the address given to me is to a UPS store not their company.

So, now I am stuck. I don't know what else to do. If you get a call like that, just hang up!!!
