I was called and told that the person calling was from the Tech department of Microsoft Windows and that my Windows Xp security license had expired.
Long story short, I believed them because they told me about error messages that I had indeed received and had reported to Microsoft. I bought their story and paid them with a credit card. I found out the next day that this is a scam and for the past 2 days have been on the phone with my credit card company who finally said that because I had authorized them to put their SERVICE, NOT A PRODUCT. On my computer that the card company could not dispute the billing... What a scam...
