I received a letter being hired by a company to be a Mystery Shopper after registering online with just my name address and phone

I received a check in the amount of 1999.00 for doing nothing. All I have to do is go to a shop, fill out paperwork and I would be paid on top of this nearly 2,000.00

I feel this is a definite scam
