I Received A Check from Deal Mart Corp. For $1, 899.95 And It Was Bad

I received a check from Deal Mart Corp. Drawn on Bank of America for $1,899.95 along with a letter that said I was to be a mystery shopper and to deposit the check and take $350.00 out for myself for acting as a mystery shopper, however, the check was returned for insufficient funds. Luckily, I opened a brand new account in a bank that I didn't have any other funds in so that they couldn't get my account information. I just don't want anyone else to get caught up in their scam. I don't understand what they are trying to accomplish.
