Unjust billing

To start with I have already contacted the Federal Trade Commission there about this problem and they told me to also contact the BBB. The FTC reference # for this case is: 43501369. Our daughter took her mother (my wife) to this hospital for a hip replacement with the understanding that this was a teaching hospital and that they accepted patients who did not have insurance. When they got there a nurse took my wife's temperature and checked her blood pressure. A doctor then came in and said that they could not do any thing for her. They were then informed that they only accept uninsured patients from LA County. We live in Idaho and when my daughter had phoned the hospital and told them that we live in Idaho they assured her that was fine and that they would accept her mother as an uninsured patient. Our daughter also knew of several other uninsured people from out of state who had gone there and been treated. That's how she learned of this hospital. So it was in good faith that she took her mother down there hoping for the best. This visit took place on 06/04. My wife's name is Donna May Ward. Her patient # is: 13395756. Her medical record # is: 7803672. Since then we have been billed every month for $1050.00 for this short visit. My wife has called them about this and they were just rude and said that she had seen a doctor. They have now referred her case to USCB America a collection agency. Their address is: P.O.
