Run! Terrible customer service

Great to work with until you sign on.
They claim to be a communications company, but only if communicating in an alien language and definately not between departments in their own company.
My mother got phone service switched from another company. It took 3 weeks and multiple communications to get the number ported even though we specifically told them we wouldn't switch unless we could keep the number. They came, but didn't hook up the internet completely, so I called for help from a technician to do it myself. He was very rude, spoke over me and acted like I should know how to set up my own internet. When we finally got that set up it kept dropping the internet connection and the phone got disconnected while talking. My son is an IT guy, and when he tested it he said its not even working at the speed they claim she is getting, but windstream has no place for him to fix it himself, so we had to get another technician out. I called on a weekend, and couldn't get a human until I told the computer I wanted to become a customer. I was instantly connected! They then told me I would have to purchase a phone wiring contract or pay for a repair on a phone and internet that never worked in the first place! I told the lady I was frustrated, but purchased the protection program and set up a repair for the next day. No one showed up. After round six of trying to get a human, they didn't have a record of a repair scheduled at all (probably because I told the first lady I was not impressed with their company). They are supposed to come again tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath since I sat on hold for 10 minutes while they tried to locate the technical department. I have spent literally hours on the phone (not the one I am paying for) to try to get this thing fixed. SO FRUSTRATED!!! Terrible company!
