Kindle Fire problems

I want to say that I am tired of my kindle not working. After 6 months, all I have had is problems. First it wouldn't turn on for 4 days, when it was fully charged, it freezes in the middle of an application and now it won't turn off due to it freezing. I would like to know why. I will not recommend it to anyone if only after 6 months, it starts to break down. It is really frustrating. I paid good money for something that is only going to work for 6 months, won't recommend it to anyone else.
