Direct tv... NOISY DVR BOX! - direct tv hdtv box

Called Customer Service tonight and spoke with a representative from Florida. After explaining we have a NOISY running DVR that at times gets so loud, we have to turn up the volume on our TV just to hear the program. At night, even though the unit is OFF, still wakes us up!
The representative states it still is working AND IF it shows an error message such as overheating, etc., THEN we can get a new unit to replace the noisy one BUT until it either STOPS working OR shows the error message, well, we will just HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT.
We are in contract with Direct TV until 03 BUT at that time we WILL be changing BACK to Dish Network UNLESS we are made aware of other companies WILLING to resolve issues when they arise!
