Customer loyalty goes unrewarded - TV Internet Cable bundle advertised

I have been a customer of Time Warner for 16 years. My contract comes up for renewal in 30 days. I have been looking on the internet at some of the offers and notice that they have my package for 60.00 less per month. I contacted them and after 55 min on hold or being bounced around I finally was able to speak with a rep that could help. So I thought. I asked her if I renew with them I would like to take them up on the advertised offer. She replied that offer was only good for new customers not existing. Well I replied I will be a new customer because my contract is up. No she said we cannot offer you the same price as we do for new customers. I have since cancelled my subscription with Time Warner and feel that if a 16 year customer is not worth what a new one is they will now need to find two new to get ahead. It simply makes no sense to charge a existing customer more for the same service.
