I purchased an HP Pavillion DV6 Notebook PC thru the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) in Nov/ Dec. I started having problems with it in early 2012 and attempted to get help from HP to fix the problem (the device would randomly shut down with no warning).

I was never able to get HP to help me so I contacted AAFES and a manager immediately arranged for me to get a replacement from HP for the defective notebook in the April/ May timeframe.By the way, AAFES has great customer service.

I am now experiencing startup problems with the replacement HP notebook and tried to get the problem resolved thru HP technical support. I was told that my 1 year warranty had expired as of November even though HP replaced the defective notebook in 2012. The person I spoke to at HP Technical Support was not helpful and told me the only thing I could do to fix my problem was reload the entire operating system to see if that would resolve my problem. That would mean many hours of labor on my part to restore the notebook software and setup to see if that actually resolves my problem.

The ottom line here is I now have a HP notebook that does not work properly and HP could care less.
