Bogus Maintenance Agreement from

Two years ago, my boyfriend & I bought a computer from People PC. The offer included the hardware, internet access for several years, and a technical support/maintenance agreement. Two months ago, out hard drive died— loudly, dramatically, and decisively. Our computer is now completely useless.

When we attempted to call People PC's technical support, we discovered that their technical support department was outsourced, and that they needed People PC to send them our membership information in order to get anything done. This apparently could not be done over the phone, but didn't ever seem to happen on paper, either. We called both tech support and various departments at People PC several times in an attempt to get this information transferred so that our computer could finally be repaired. We ended up in phone loops— this department sends us to that one, which sends us to the other one, then back to the first— for hours, and no department at People PC ever seemed to have a supervisor on duty, though the customer service number is allegedly 24-hour service. The only offers we ever seem to get are offers to re-send our information to technical support. Again. We've gone through this loop five times in the last two months, with no advancement in our situation whatsoever. We can't even complain to someone higher up in the command chain, because there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge. I'm beginning to think that this is a breach of contract, or perhaps even fraud in action.
