Is billing for services after I cancelled 2 months ago. Rip-off! Internet

I had loaded AOl from a disk after hooking up my first computer and did not like there service. I still had some free hours left but took them off my computer. I immediatly called the company and cancelled the supscription (they even confirmed that I still had free time left) but said they would cancel my services and game me a confirmation nummber. Now I receive a notice in the mail that I owe them 28.90 for their services that I am not using.
