Elite Training
Took out loan for courses and then company disappeared with money

My husband was working in the telecommunications field, and wanted to break into the computer field so he decided to attend Elite Training in Overland Park, KS. They were based out of Charlotte, NC. We were not able to secure the loan by ourselves, so his mother co-signed for us. The amount of the loan wa $4675.00, and financed through Key Bank Education Services. His mother is handicapped, so we knew that it would be up to us to re-pay the loan.

They told my husband to call on a Friday to get his class schedule, but when he called he kept getting an answering machine. When he couldn't reach someone over the weekend he decided to go to the school on Monday. Much to his surprise, the office was empty. He found the building manager, and was told that they moved out over the weekend.

We contacted the BBB in Missouri and North Carolina, as well as the Attorney Generals office in both states. Unfortunately, they were not able to help us. They did put it on the record though.

We contacted Key Bank Education Services and were told that the contract was between us and them, and not between them and Elite Training. Therefore, we are still liable for the loan.

We are now making $50.00 a month payments on a loan that was for nothing.

We would be interested in some sort of class action suit if that is possible. It just makes me sick to think that people are allowed to conduct business like this. I am sure that the owner is already stealing someone elses money in another part of the country.
