CTC CTC led me to believe that I would be "placed" in a job making 28 to 36 grand a yea

Education & Science

I will first say that my instructor at ComputerTraining.com/edu in Lancaster, PA was a great man and tried his heart out to help all of us, even those that shouldn't touch a computer or interact with people.

When I enrolled in CTC I was told that I was a great candidate for the school and I upon graduating from the program I will be assisted in securing a job within 90 days of graduating the program. They said that tuition is $28,500 ($8,500 of it being a in house school loan with differed payments) and I lost interest quick. Six months of education for almost 30 grand. Once the intake personnel saw my reaction to this I was told that I am sure to get a job making at least 28 grand a year, but most likely around 36 grand to start. So I signed.

Well, in all actuality, I graduated in September and about a month later after over 60 job applications I landed a job. I had to take it because it was my only way in the door of the IT field. I am a technical support representative for an educational program making $11 an hour with no paid holidays. I am not using anything that I learned in CTC at this job but I can't complain too much because there are people that were in my class that did not get a job.

About half way through class talks about tuition started and my classmates and I found out that some people in our class were told that the $8,500 in house loan will be reimbursed to them as part of the initial deal. I myself was not given this bargain. So, it comes out that a tuition of $28,500 was to be put on the table and if the potential student doesn't take to the price, the $8,500 in house loan can be dropped to make for a cheaper tuition. Isn't that a little unfair?

Soon after this we find out that tuition has been dropped for future classes by over 50%. My sister started training with CTC with the reduced tuition while I was still in class and she signed a paper that said that her $28,500 tuition will be dropped to $13,900 before the end of her class while others signed at $13,900. This school really needed help and I am not surprised that they went under last week.

All in all, CTC got me on my feet with the IT field but it was all based on lies and empty promises. I graduated at the top of my class and am currently an MCSA working for less than 23 grand a year along side with high school graduates with no education in the IT field.

And no that the school went out of business, they breached their contract because they offer "Career Services for life." Shouldn't all of the students affected by this at least be reimbursed for the in house loan for $8,500 because they are not living up to their promises.

Lastly, if you were currently in class when they just shut you out and canceled your education, I hope you fair better than the rest of us with the financial situation.

If you read this entire thing, than you really must be pissed with this deceitful company ran by con artists.

Good luck to all CTC victims, keep up with the studying.
