Theuseful.com
Yourmp3player.com ripoff spam scam bait & switch CAN-SPAM violators

Internet & Web

I wound up at a site operated by the anonymous company "theuseful.com". The site was called "www.yourmp3player.com" and claimed to give away an iPod mini to those that filled out their customer's surveys. After reading their privacy policy which promised that I would not receive any email that I did not specifically request, I began the sign up process.

I started getting a bad feeling after giving up my personal information and then being pestered for endless amounts of pages as to whether I wanted email on numerous typical spam type offers, i.E. Get a degree, car warranty, mortgage, etc.

After finally saying no to dozens of offers to spam me, I was finally promised my iPod mini if I just filled out 5 offers from the final page. Before I even finished completing one of the offers for the seemingly innocuous BMG CD club, I began to receive spam to the unique email address I had created since I thought theuseful.com might be hardened spammers with no respect for anyone.

I checked both the Florida and North Carolina Secretary of State websites and the business is a fake.

Avoid the lying turkeys at all costs.
