Ripoff false promise of free gift certificate

I (foolishly and against my usual policy) clicked on a flashing banner ad for a free $50.00 gift certificate to Red Lobster. So, I thought this might be legit. It's been more than two months, and I have yet to receive a gift certificate.
After spending more time than I'd like to admit going through page after page of surveys and offers, all of which I declined, I expected to get my gift certificate. I got spam from Optionetics, lots of it, and email from all kinds of nonsense companies. I even got snail mail advertising paid seminars on investing from Optionetics.
Forunately, I have my own domain, and used an email account that I set up to receive this kind of garbage. Now the account no longer exists, but I have the satisfaction of knowing that for a couple of days before I deleted it, Optionetics got a copy of every message I received on that account.
This company is bogus. A WHO IS lookup indicates that they use a PO box, and use generic names on all records, so there is no way to get the name of anyone at the company. They don't answer their phone.
I will probably never see that gift certificate.
