Broke into my computer using a supposed affiliation with Microsoft to say my computer had been infected with a virus Internet

Internet & Web

I was in my email account when a warning was sent to my screen saying my computer had a virus infection. Since Microsoft was stated in the warning I assumed it was from Microsoft. The warning said I needed to contact pc care 247 immediately to resolve the issue. Of course, foolishly I complied since I'm not a techie. For $400 they said they could fix and resolve any issues I was having. I had no issues prior to their hacking into my computer. I authorized the fix and my CC was charged $400. The problem is that all the fixes they supposedly did were with free virus and malware software available on the net.
They also asked if we had any other computers. My wife has a laptop, so I said yes. They said it was also infected and for the same amount of money they would fix it also. My wife's computer was at the computer repair shop as she was having problems with her email and downloading patterns. I told them that and they said that when she got it back to call and they fix her other problems. As I was in a state of panic, I agreed.

Long story short, she got it back the next day and she called the company to have the fixes installed. They then said there wasn't any problems on her computer to fix although my CC had already been charged.
I am fighting all the charges on my card, currently thru the CC company, however, the outcome right now does not look good.
