Amazon
Amazon free shipping ripoff

Internet & Web

Amazon products that feature "Free Shipping", seems to have a catch.

It appears that Amazon purposely delays shipping this item when "Free Shipping" is selected. I have found this to be the case on several occasions now when purchasing relatively big ticket items.

The tracking of the product on the Amazon site stated that it had left their facilities right away, but the UPS status stated that only a shipping tag had been processed. This generally goes on for several days before the product actually appeared in the UPS system for shipment.

This is not an isolated instance, but rather seem to have become a default policy on the part of Amazon.

When calling Customer Service about such delays, it is seemingly impossible to get a direct answer, suggesting an awareness of the "issue", and suggesting a lack of intention to change it.

Just thought you would like to know before clicking the Shopping Cart button.
