Ordering - AT&T DSL

I tried to order DSL and DirecTV through AT&T. They took my credit card information and ran a credit check on me BEFORE they could tell me that they don't even offer service at my address. Their online system didn't have a problem taking my order, nor did the first customer service rep I spoke with over the phone.
