Ebook was only available for mobile download

I ordered Give Your Elevator Speech a Lift from franklin electronic publishing. After I paid for it with my credit card I then found out that I also needed to buy their ebook reader for an additional $19.95. On top of that I then found out that the book was only available for download to certain mobile devices of which I did not have. I tried to call their customer service number and all I got was an ad to remortgage my house, a short silence, then a quick continuous beeping.
