Officemax Giftcard Offer is a joke Ente

Congratulations Earthlink. YOu gave me the worst experience I have ever had as a consumer. Earthlink offers a special where if you sign up for 3 months of their service you will receive a $75 Officemax Giftcard. When you sign up they ask for your credit card so if you cancel prior to the end of 3 month period they will bill you for the 3 months. That makes sense.

I was told when I signed up I would receive the gift card in 2-3 weeks by not just one but two different people in Earthlink. I signed up January 21st of 2003. A program had just aired on Dateline about how alot of these companies who offer these rebates drag it out as long as they can in hopes the consumer gives up.

Well, since day one the Earthlink internet product itself was terrible but I knew I was stuck with it for 3 months. This only aggravated me more. At the end of February I called to check on the status of my giftcard. The person said it was sent February 21st, which is more than 3 weeks but I was excited to get it so I didn't raise an issue. A week went by and I still had not received the card so I called again. They did not have record of the card ever being sent out. This was it.

I had called several times about problems with their internet service and everytime they were rude and my problem was never fixed. Now they are jerking me around with the giftcard.By now it was the end of March and I had not received my Giftcard. Every time I called I was told they cannot open a new case to send my card because that would cancel out the old case and my card wouldn't be sent. Well duh! Are you telling me the card has never been sent out and if my card was sent out when it should have been sent out I would have had it by then. It was obvious the people at Earthlink were not only unprofessional but incompetent too. I called Officemax to tell them my ordeal and how unhappy I was as a consumer. They apologized and said they would look into it for me. Three days later I had my gift card.
