Took my money for no services

Symantec's impossible to use website offered an anti-virus subscription for which they readily took my money (1/30/04). I then found out that it did not work. After 3 hours on their website and waiting for a person on their phone line, I was told that I had to start over again with another person, but they were closing then.

On 2/2/04 I waited another hour to talk to a live person and THIS person said that they no longer service the package that I owned (but they were quick to take my money for a subscription to something they no longer deal with!) Of course, they took my money with absolutely no warning at all about an potential incompatibility.

Then this representative said that they do not issue refunds (For services not even begun to be rendered?!) But I could pay another $29.95 for another new package... So now I will be $50.00 in debt to this billion dollar corporation. On top of that, he said that there would be no guarentee that even this would work, and I could still not get any money back from them.

This is the height of corporate arrogance, so say the least. No where was anything stated about NO REFUNDS and no where was anything stated about being aware of something not working that I may buy. If I was just plain stupid it would be one thing, but they duped me into shelling out my money, and now they won't give it back to me!!
