Ineffective, inefficient service - TIME WARNER CABLE

After subscribing for cable and internet service at my house I was told that both the activation and installation were contingent upon the termination of the previous tenant's account. A process which ended up taking eleven days. Ten days, twenty three hours, and fourty five minutes longer than it should have. I let that go since this is an unusually busy period with the beginning of school in the decidedly overpopulated college town of Austin, TX. Upon the termination of service of the previous tenant, we were then informed that even though the connections were already in place, we had to wait for a technician to install the equiptment as we could not possess the mental faculties required to attach a plug to a wall socket. It was also explained that this appointment could not be scheduled until six or seven days in the future. When the conformation was finally sent to my email, the appointmemt was firmly set from the hours of eight am to nine pm. The technician showed up an hour late without the equiptment we ordered which was a HD DVR box.instead, he installed a box without a DVR taken from a house he had just visited. The wrong model of another customers upgrade. After he configured the box to work with our tv, none of the HD channels worked, at which point he left but not before telling us that we should have explored options for satellite HDTV. It will take time warner another 3 to 5 days to ship us the equiptment that we're paying for so we can start using the services that we don't have access to. We're currently paying for those too, by the way. We'll see what happens. Or, in all likelihood, what doesn't happen.
