I read your report on MemberWorks aka Dealpass. I found an unauthorized charge on my bank statement called PRIVACY PLUS. Privacy Plus is a service of MemberWorks aka Dealpass. Since I believed there to be a connection between my AOL account and this issue, I contacted AOL about it by email on Jan 21. Today (Jan 25) AOL confirmed via email that they gave my credit card info to MemberWorks. They claimed they have my authorization.
My advise: Do not trust your credit card info to America Online, Time / Warner, Inc. Use only prepaid cards with enough money to pay only the monthly online fee. I cancelled my card and will use a prepaid card for future transactions with America Online.
