INTERNET DSL $14.95 They Lied to me, Falsely Billed, no service and RUDE ripoff Nationwide

December 31 I saw a commercial on TV for the NETZERO Internet DSL for $14.95. So I logged on to their website and started the process of downloading as instructed.

I had a lot of difficulty getting it done and it was a long process. When I got to the part with the phone number for it to dial to it was Long Distance, it gave me no warning of this, so I decided to just forget it but I didn't know if it had completed when I tried to cancel it out.

I call NETZERO Internet. I explained to the lady that since the connecting number was Long Distance it would cost me more than what I had (aol) and I was not sure if it had connected completely because I didn't finish. I told her that I wanted to make sure they knew so I would not be billed for this. She quite RUDELY told me after looking for my name, the sign on and checking account number that it had not gone through and I would not be billed for it.

Guess What! I was checking my bank statement and NETZERO INTERNET had taken $14.95 out of my checking account January 2. To beat that that few dollars caused a check to bounce a check. My husband just got layed off work and this amount does make a difference.

I am out the $14.95, the $27.62 bank charge and my time and agrivation. I have worked Customer Service jobs for 30 years and have 15 years of Invoicing Customer Service and this is not acceptable behavior. I feel that they should refund me a total of $42.57. Tomorrow I will call them again, but I don't treat ANYONE this way, I resolve the problems fairly and would loose my job for rudeness. $47.57 is not much but I'm sure at this point I need it back.
