Multiple online orders - cancelled

Two of my new orders positioned on target.com during Blackfriday revenue were terminated greater than a week after putting the purchases, presumably since "can't locate item available". Exactly what does this mean? Just how can a online merchant not need item accessible, while getting charge card numbers and purchases? I am never purchasing from target.com again!!!
