Advanced Media pub Worked for the company and after a month still have not been paid my last check

I worked for Advanced Media Publication and I left because of their bad management their bad work conditions. They employ drug addicts and as a proffesional I did not feel safe, as this people are under the influence all the time while at work and I saw my self in danger for being there everyday. After I left and gave my resignation letter, I was confirmed by the owner I would get my check in the mail for the last hours I worked. It has been over a month and I still have not received a check from him. They keep saying it will come in the mail and it never does. I e-mail, call their contact numbers on the daily basis, and no response. They are very rude, I don't think they run a legit business as they try to hide many things and the people they hire from local half way houses getting paid cash sometimes even on the daily basis as in 'bonuses' is very unprofessional as I am still waiting for my check that I worked hard for.
