I've used 1 & 1 Internet for about five years. I've been willing to put up with their deteriorating service because I have over 200 domains registered with them and about 12 active web pages. Three weeks ago I was shocked to find that all my sites were down and my account was locked. Obviously, I can't make money if my sites are not up.

I contacted 1 & 1 and was told I owed them for a past bill. I didn't think they were right but I needed the sites up immediately so I gave them a new credit card number and asked them to expedite the restart while we investigated their claim. Not only did we discover that they were wrong, but they didn't restore the sites. After two days of telephone calls and sitting on hold I had a confrontation with a "Manager" named Raj.

He said that I didn't understand, they were in control not me and that the web sites would come back up when they were good and ready. If that wasn't enough then it was just "to bad, so sad" for me. He kept telling me "to bad, so sad, " as if it was an English phrase he had just learned and he thought that was the way we speak. He was a manager!

It's been three weeks. I did manage to port some of my sites to.org versions I have on other servers but 1 & 1 still hasn't restored access to my account and now whenever I call I receive a message that says they are experiencing high call volume and to call back. I've received the same message for a week. Their accounting hours are not 24 hours a day but a limited time frame each day, Monday to Friday. If you're not on Eastern time, your screwed. I sent an email and received a response a few days later that had a canned response that didn't come close to answering my questions but it did say access would be restored in two or three days. That was a week ago.

1 & 1 has grown so large they simply don't even have to pretend they care. The minute I get access to the account I'm going to start transferring every domain to other registrars. I'm sure that's one of the reasons they are holding off the access. I told them that in several conversations so now they know they have nothing to gain by getting the access restored. That was a mistake I made. I should have kept my mouth shut. They are vindictive little aholes.

DON'T use 1&1 unless you want bad service, snotty Indian customer service and a company that will make a mistake yet F@CK you over. They don't care. They don't presend that they care. They simply have you by your privates when your income is based on a decision that's being made by some guy in India who makes 10 cents an hour and only knows English well enough parrot something he's heard.
