Refused to Refund on Product Purchase - until Credit Card Company called them

Internet & Web

I purchase Cyber Defender Anti-Virus software using my Chase credit card. I was emailed an activation code but had to call in for 'technical' support to activiate. This just turned out to be a way for them to try and get money out of you.

They asked for permission to sign into my computer -than said I had horrible viruses that would destroy my computer and asked for a the credit card number so for $385 they would fix my computer.

I sad no thanks as the rogue viruses were old anti-virus programs. The company continued to refuse to activate my software until after a spoke to technical support. I was 'promised' a call back. No call back.

Next day I called and ask, then demanded my money be refunded to my credit card. They refused - telling me they were going to take care of my problems. I told the rep I did not want them to fix my problem and I wanted nothing to due with Cyber Defender and wanted my money back. They refused - I made it very clear I wanted nothing to do with them.

Next day charge appeared on my credit card. Called credit card company - charge was reversed as I was holding for the Chase Rep to get off the phone with Cyberdefender.

Avoid!!
