Eddy smith mystery shopper money order/cashier's check scam, Haiti

Internet & Web

My unemployed roommate responded to a "Mystery Shopper" email and thought this would be a good oppurtunity for him to earn a few bucks while he is job hunting.
About a week later after an email confirming he got the position, he received a usps envelope in the mail with a letter congratulating him on his new employment as a mystery shopper, and also instructions for him on how to fill out the blank usps money order in the amount of $950. He was to deposit the money order into his bank account... Wait 24 hours for it to clear... Go back to the bank and withdrawel the money (keep $100 for his salary) and go to western union to mystery shop the staff there, and wire the money to an accountant at the research institute in haiti.
We discussed this strange mystery shopper assignment with a couple of our friends, and they advised to us to look it up on better business bureau website. I found nothing there. So i did an internet search and sure enough... Scam... I showed my roommate it was a scam with the information i found on the internet. I took copies of the emails sent to him, along with usps package containing the blank money order and employment letter to my local us post office, and from there it was to be forwarded to the post master.
Well, just yesterday he received another usps envelope with the same instructions, but this time it included a bank of america cashier's check with his name on it in the amount of 4200.00, and this time it says he gets keep $400.
Please be very careful and do not get scamed with this mystery shopper bogus job offer! If my roommate had deposited this money order and/or check and they had cleared, he would have wired the money western union to haiti, and then he would have been responsible for paying his bank back all this money and also having to deal with possible criminal charges!
